Need To Donate? 

 

When moving, you’re often times rediscovering a lot of hidden treasures that you’ve kept over the years. As you’re packing or even unpacking, you find that you don’t want to take everything with you or maybe you just don’t have room for those items anymore. Whatever the case may be, there are plenty of organizations that take donations near you, and we can help find the right fit!

 

1. Idaho Youth Ranch

IYR Thrift – Caldwell

Thrift stores such as the Idaho Youth Ranch, Deseret Industries, Goodwill, and Savers are larger thrift stores located with multiple locations around the valley. Specifically, the Idaho Youth Ranch is a non-profit thrift store that primarily focuses on children and families who need emergency shelter, residential care, therapy, job readiness training, adoption services, and more. They formed in 1952.

 

2. Savers

Thrift Store & Donation Center in Nampa, Idaho 83651 | Savers

Savers is a for-profit business that partners with organizations such as Parca, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and American Red Cross. Savers was founding in San Francisco in 1954. They accept clothes and household goods donations.

 

3. Goodwill

1105 Caldwell Blvd.

Goodwill is another non-profit organization that uses their funds to help job training, career counseling, and community-based services.

 

4. Deseret Industries

About Deseret Industries

Deseret Industries is a non-profit thrift store and donation center. It was established in 1938 and is owned and operated by Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Deseret Industries (AKA D.I.) helps those in the program to improve their lives through work, training, and education. As of 2024, there are 46 stores and 10,809 individuals enrolled through DI.

 

5. The Wardrobe: Treasure Valley

The Wardrobe is a non-profit organization that specifically focuses on providing customized clothing orders to Idaho’s youth in foster and kinship care at no cost to them. They offer sizes ranging from newborn up to 21 years old. They accept new and gently used items such as clothing, shoes, hygiene items, school supplies, books, baby items, and more. They do not accept damaged items, adult clothing, car seats, cribs, baby bouncers, jumpers or swings, mattresses, and/or furniture.

 

There are plenty of wonderful organizations that you can donate your new and used items to that will find a loving home. If you would like any further recommendations or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call!
